The Chery QQ3 electric hatchback is on its way to Pakistan this month, with multiple units already spotted at a local port and Master Group believed to be finalising the launch. The car brings back the iconic QQ name, a nameplate Pakistani drivers remember from the early 2000s, but this time it returns as a fully battery-powered city car with proper range, modern tech, and a spec sheet that punches well above the entry-level tag.

Why the Chery QQ3 Electric Hatchback Matters for Pakistan

The Chery QQ name is already familiar to Pakistani consumers. The earlier petrol-powered QQ was positioned as an affordable small car but eventually lost popularity as the Suzuki Alto strengthened its position through competitive pricing and strong demand. The new model takes a completely different road. The new Chery QQ takes a different approach by returning as a fully electric vehicle, and if introduced locally, it could target buyers seeking an affordable entry point into electric mobility.

Recent sightings of Chery QQ electric cars at a Pakistani port have fuelled speculation about a possible local launch. Images circulating on social media show a few units at the port, raising speculation that the company could be preparing to introduce the electric car in Pakistan. The vehicles appear to be available in red and white exterior colours.

Chery QQ3 Specs, What You Actually Get

The QQ3 Premium variant features a 42.7 kWh battery paired with a rear-mounted electric motor that produces 90 kW, about 121 horsepower, and 111 Nm of torque. It offers a claimed range of up to 400 kilometres under the NEDC cycle and 310 km under the more conservative WLTP standard, with a top speed of 135 km/h.

The hatchback measures 4,195 mm in length, 1,811 mm in width and 1,568 mm in height, with a 2,700 mm wheelbase. That makes it bigger than it sounds, closer in size to a compact family car than a tiny city runabout.

Its equipment includes six airbags, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, wireless charging, and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. International versions can also offer a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor, ambient lighting, and AI-powered voice controls.

The car also has a notable design touch: it features a rounded exterior with circular lighting elements, a closed front grille, semi-hidden door handles, dual-tone mirrors, and a distinctive Q logo on the C-pillar. It also includes both a powered boot and a front storage compartment (frunk), useful for Pakistani families who need extra carrying space.

How the Chery QQ3 Electric Hatchback Stacks Up Against Rivals

Pakistan’s electric car market is getting busier by the month. The auto market in 2026 is seeing more hybrid and electric choices, with models from MG, BYD, Changan, and others entering or expanding. The QQ3 slots in at a very interesting price point between the mass-market and the premium EV segments.

  • Dongfeng Box: The Dongfeng Box will likely be one of the QQ3’s closest competitors in Pakistan. In terms of power, the Chery has the advantage, the QQ3 packs a 90 kW motor, while the Dongfeng Box sold in Pakistan comes with a 70 kW motor.
  • BYD Dolphin: The BYD Dolphin price in Pakistan is Rs 92 to 95 lakh. Its Blade Battery is available in 44.9 kWh for the entry trim and 60.4 kWh for higher trims, offering 315 km to 457 km range (WLTP). It is a strong all-rounder but sits at a significantly higher price than where the QQ3 is expected to land.
  • MG4: The MG4 EV price in Pakistan in 2026 is expected to fall around Rs 69.49 lakh, depending on variant and configuration. It is a well-rounded car with a good safety rating, but again likely to be priced well above the QQ3.

No official local price has been announced yet by Master Group. The QQ3 was unveiled in China in March 2026 at a starting price of around $9,000, which translates to roughly Rs 25 lakh at current exchange rates, though import duties, taxes, and dealer margins will push the local figure higher. Analysts and auto watchers expect it to sit somewhere between Rs 40 and Rs 60 lakh when it finally reaches showrooms, but that figure remains unconfirmed until Master Group makes an official announcement.

Master Group and Chery’s Bigger Pakistan Push

Chery Master Pakistan, introduced locally by Master Auto Engineering, part of the Master Group with over 60 years of industrial and automotive legacy, has been signalling the potential introduction of multiple new models in the local market. The brand currently offers three main models in Pakistan, the Tiggo 7, Tiggo 8, and Tiggo 9, all positioned in the hybrid SUV space with plug-in hybrid technology.

The QQ3 would be Master Group’s first pure electric offering in Pakistan. The company has positioned the vehicle as an affordable urban mobility solution for densely populated cities including Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. For daily commuters dealing with traffic and rising petrol costs, a compact EV with a real-world range of 310 km on WLTP could genuinely change the calculation on running costs.

Chery unveiled the new electric generation of the QQ at the Chengdu Auto Show in August 2025 and launched it in China in March 2026. It is also available in international markets including Thailand, and will soon be available in the Middle East and Australia. Pakistan’s entry, if it happens this month, would put it ahead of many regional markets.

One practical thing buyers should keep in mind: the service network is still building, so buyers should check dealership coverage in their city before deciding. Charging infrastructure in Pakistan is also still developing, so it is worth confirming what home or public charging setup is available before committing. You can check Pakistan’s EV policy and import duty structure directly on the Ministry of Industries and Production website and the official Chery Automobile global site for the latest model details.
