Asus has announced the first sale of the top version of its gaming smartphone, the ROG Phone 5, in India. The Asus ROG Phone 5 Ultimate will start selling on Flipkart from December 26, with the sale starting at noon on that date. The phone, which has a whopping 18GB of RAM, will be priced at Rs. 79,999 and runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chipset. It’s the world’s first smartphone with 18GB of RAM and has been expected to start selling for quite a while now. The Asus ROG Phone 5 is amongst the best gaming phones on the market this year.

The Asus ROG Phone 5 Ultimate has a monochrome PMOLED display on the back, which matches the frosted back glass and storm white colour of the device. It also supports Asus’ Air Triggers, which allow gamers to use up to 10 motion control gesture inputs, and can be customized too. The screen on the front has a 144Hz Super AMOLED display from Samsung, and ultra-low touch latency of 24.3 ms, with high colour accuracy and support for HDR10+ playback.
Further, the phone is powered by a 6000 mAh battery, and as mentioned before, it has the Snapdragon 888 chipset. It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack and the ESS Sabre DAC & headphone amp is built inside. There’s also a dual-camera setup on the back with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP macro camera. On the front, the phone has a 24MP camera. The phone has 512GB storage.
The gaming features don’t really end there though. The device also has a unique “ammo-box” packaging that allows an augmented reality (AR) unboxing experience. You also get the 30 watt ROG HyperCharge Adapter from Asus, along with the ROG Aero Case, the ROG AeroCooler 5 and physical trigger buttons.
On the accessories front, gamers can also buy the AeroActive Cooler 5 separately at Rs. 2999, while the ROG Kunai Gamepad and ROG Cetra II Core Headset are priced at Rs. 9999 and Rs. 3999.
