The GITEX (“Gulf Information Technology Exhibition”) is an annual consumer computer and electronics trade fair, exhibition, and conference held in the Dubai World Trade Centre in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Many companies who are using 5G technology participated in GITEX 2021.
Many tech giants like Huawei, Ericsson, Cisco and many more participated in GITEX 2021. Different Tech companies of Pakistan have also been participated in GITEX 2021. Federal Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunication Syed Aminul Haque inaugurated Pakistan Tech Pavilion in GITEX 2021 technology week.
Giving interview to TechX Pakistan he said, “Pakistan is a fertile soil, it produces every year many tech companies and Pakistani’s are an asset for the entire world in an IT sector.” He also said, “In upcoming days as conditions are getting better day by day after some relaxation in COVID-19, we will try our best to conduct GITEX like exhibition in Pakistan.”
In an answer of question asked by our host, he replied, “In upcoming days as we know there is also an exhibition going to be held in Bahrain, we will also participate in that and not only this, every tech exhibition which will be held in the world, the IT ministry will help Pakistani tech companies to participate on international level and ministry will lead them from front. So, different international companies will feel safe to invest in Pakistan.”
Furthermore, he also said about Gwadar City, “Gwadar is a very beautiful and emerging city and Government of Pakistan is investing billions of rupees for the development and lays Fiber optics in Gwadar.”
In addition, he also said, “IT ministry have given two most important things in Gwadar city regarding connectivity; we have installed 3G and 4G connection lines and towers and we also want to make an incubation center in Gwadar. I think these kinds of developments will encourage more international investors to invest in Pakistan.”
Moreover, in an answer of question asked by our host regarding 5G technology, he replied, “Ministry of IT is very much serious on this topic and we are overviewing the infrastructure that when we can launch 5G technology.”
He also said, “Good news is that every month we are increasing penetration of 4G technologies to about 1.4 million so we can complete the process of 5G technology. At the end of December 2022, IT ministry will try it’s best to launch 5G technology in Pakistan.”
