NUST researchers are among the top 2% in the world. This year, 23 researchers from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) rose to prominence by being named among the world’s Top 2% research luminaries.
Four of them have also been recognized for their long-term career impact. NUST has consistently made strides in its R&D pursuits, propelling it to the top of the Pakistani educational landscape and contributing to nation building through transformative higher education.
According to the QS University Rankings 2023, NUST is currently ranked #334 in the world, #74 in Asia, and #1 in Pakistan, and among the top 200 universities in the world according to The Impact Ranking 2022.
Over the last three years, the number of NUST researchers in the top 2% of the world has steadily increased.
This speaks volumes about NUST’s conducive research environment for knowledge seekers and creators to make a difference in these historic times.
Elsevier publishes the rankings data. The researchers are ranked using a composite index that takes into account several bibliometrics such as citations, hirsch-index, authorship positions, Artificial Intelligence, Signal Processing, Materials, Chemical, Mechanical, Bio-medical, Robotics, Cyber Security, Computer Science, Design and Manufacturing, Humanities, and Mathematical Methods in Fluid Mechanics are among the disciplines represented by the researchers from NUST’s seven different institutions.
The esteemed researchers recognised this year include Dr Noreen Sher Akbar, Dr Meraj Mustafa, Dr Mubasher Jamil, Dr Salman Raza Naqvi, Dr. Faisal Shafait, Dr. Adeeb Shahzad, Dr. Shahid Iqbal, Dr. Muhammad Moazam Fraz, Dr. Iftikhar Ahmed, Dr. Irfan Ahmad Rana, Dr. Iftikhar Hussain Gul, Dr Muhammad Usman Akram, Dr. Haider Abbas, Dr. Hassan Ali Khattak, Dr. Tayyaba Noor, Dr. Farooq Ahmed Tahir, Dr. Abdul Ghafoor, Dr. Muhammad Jawad Khan, Dr. Safia Akram, Dr Tahir Abdul Hussain Ratlamwala, Dr. Tahir Mehmood, Dr. Syed Ali Hassan, and Dr. Muhammad Ishaq.
