The 466-page Toshakhana (gift depository) record from 2002 to 2023 has been made public by the federal government through uploading it to the Cabinet Division’s official website.

On the orders of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the action was taken.

Former presidents, prime ministers, federal ministers, and other government leaders are among those who receive the gifts from foreign dignitaries.

Records show that former leaders Gen. (ret.) Pervez Musharraf, Shaukat Aziz, Yousuf Raza Gilani, Nawaz Sharif, Raja Parvaiz Ashraf, and Imran Khan are among those who received awards.

Also, the Toshakhana records of President Dr. Arif Alvi and current Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have been uploaded.

The list of gifts that federal ministers, senior officials, and civil servants have received has also been made public, in addition to the premiers.

According to the legislation, the beneficiaries retained the majority of low-value gifts for themselves without being compensated.

It was against the law to keep presents worth less than Rs. 10,000 after 2022.

After paying 15% of their worth, gifts between Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 400,000 could be kept.

The only people who were permitted to keep gifts worth more than Rs. 400,000 are the president or the head of state.
