Former prime minister and current chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has had a plea to have a non-bailable arrest warrant issued against him in the Toshakhana criminal proceedings case thrown out by an Islamabad sessions court.
The reserved verdict was issued by Additional Session judge Zafar Iqbal, who also ordered the populist leader to appear at tomorrow’s proceedings.
The court had earlier deferred its decision on a petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan to have the arrest warrants issued against him in the Toshakhana case cancelled.

After evading arrest at his Lahore home, the PTI head submitted an application in a sessions court in the country’s federal capital the next day, asking for the revocation of a non-bailable arrest.
Qaisar Imam, Barrister Gohar, and Ali Bukhari, Imran’s attorneys, filed the appeal, contending that the issuing of arrest warrants was limited by law if the appeal had been submitted as a private complaint.
While everything was going on, the former ruling party went to the highest court in Pakistan to bring up security issues with the PTI leader’s recent court appearances in Islamabad.
It insisted that the lawsuits brought against the former premier were part of a scheme to leave him open to assault and lobbied for the right to have him appear in court via video link.
