Previously, in December, we saw the Xiaomi 12 make its debut in China, and now it appears that the company is getting ready to launch the series internationally. According to recent reports, the Xiaomi 12 series will be released globally on March 15th, via a special launch event.
It’s worth noting that this news has nothing to do with the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC), where Xiaomi has been surprisingly quiet.
The Xiaomi 12 lineup will be unveiled on March 15th via an online event, with a focus on Europe and possibly India as the first global destinations for the smartphone series.
However, it is unclear whether all three models, the Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro, and 12X, will be available in the global release.
Speculations also suggest that the more compact Xiaomi 12 mini will join the global launch on March 15th.
While rumors suggest that some other models may also be included in the launch, any current projections should be taken with a grain of salt.
The Xiaomi 12 series camera setup will be a major selling point for the global edition. Because of the impressive camera setup, the theme of the March 15 will be “Master every scene.”
All three models have the same camera setup, which includes a 50MP primary lens, but the Pro has a larger sensor than the other two, 1/1.56″ vs 1/2.8″, as well as telephoto and ultrawide sensors.
The Pro has a triple 50MP camera unit on the back panel, which includes a 50MP telephoto with 2x optical magnification and a 115° ultra-wide, as well as a 13 MP ultra wides and a 5 MP tele macro sensor.
The trio is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets, with the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and the 12X powered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset.
According to previous rumors, the Xiaomi 12 Pro will cost around $1,200, while the 12X will cost around $670. Furthermore, the standard Xiaomi 12 is expected to cost around $1,000.
Because there has been no official word from the company on the pricing of these smartphones, these projections are speculative.
