Following the introduction of emoji replies, Meta-owned WhatsApp is said to be introducing the ability to hide your ‘Last Seen’ status from certain contacts.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has included an option to its current beta edition of its iOS app that lets users to restrict who may view their “Last Scene” status.
If you’re unfamiliar with that function of WhatsApp, it’s a means to determine if a contact has received your message even if they have read receipts turned off, according to Engadget.
WhatsApp has enabled you to limit who sees your status to only your contacts for a time now. You may also turn off the function entirely, but you won’t be able to exclude certain people from viewing the information.
However, under the Last Seen section of the app’s privacy settings, WhatsApp iOS beta version 22.9.0.70 introduces a new “My Contacts Except” option.
Adding someone to that list, according to WABetaInfo, also stops you from seeing their status.
WhatsApp is also developing more detailed privacy restrictions for both profile images and about sections, according to the publication.
According to the article, the function is presently under beta testing on both Android and iOS, and it won’t be long until it’s publicly accessible on WhatsApp.
