Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s finance minister, praised American assistance and noted how crucial it has always been for Pakistan in trying times.
On Tuesday, Donald Blome, the US ambassador to Pakistan, met with Ishaq Dar, the finance minister. The finance minister greeted the representative and emphasised the long-standing and solid bilateral economic and trade ties between India and the US.
He informed the ambassador of the current government’s efforts to rebuild and restore areas affected by the disaster. It was mentioned that the current administration is very concerned about the general welfare of the population, hence many initiatives are being launched in this direction. During the meeting, both parties discussed further topics of interest.
The ambassador was informed by the finance minister of the government’s thorough and practical plans for income and expenditures to satisfy both domestic and international financial responsibilities.
The envoy recognised the significant economic losses Pakistan was suffering as a result of the flood catastrophe and assured Pakistan that the US government was there for it during these trying times.
The minister discussed a number of economic opportunities for both nations to further develop their trade ties.
