By creating a committee to create a medical college inside the institution, Karachi University (KU) has made a big advancement.
This committee is in charge of making sure that all formalities and legal prerequisites for the founding of the KU Medical College are fulfilled.
These essential elements will subsequently be delivered to Professor Dr. Khalid Iraqi, vice chancellor (VC).
In order to support the building of its hospital, Professor Iraqi noted that Karachi University has been actively collaborating with charitable individuals and organizations. The objective is to complete this effort quickly and effectively.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between KU and the National Institute of Kidney and Urological Diseases Hospital represents a significant development.
This project, which is being led by the Kidney Foundation, seeks to offer medical services such emergency, cardiac, diagnostic, outpatient department, and radiological treatments to KU faculty, staff, and their families. A formal signing of the MoU took place in the VC Secretariat.
The VC further mentioned that admissions to the medical faculty will be announced in the upcoming academic years.
It is noted that until KU’s hospital is functioning, medical classes will be held on campus and cooperation with different hospitals will be developed to complete additional prerequisites for the completion of the medical degree.
Additionally, it was made public that Dr. Nadira Panjwani, a well-known social worker and philanthropist, has kindly offered the University’s administration her support for the development of a hospital on the campus. This action reaffirms the university’s dedication to improving its medical facilities.
