In Karachi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has opened Asia’s largest visa centre. It will have 11 counters and will offer consular services in compliance with current international norms.
A gift from UAE’s Govt.
Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister of Sindh, also visited the visa centre and was briefed on its services. He was told that the centre is permitted to grant work permits.
CM Sindh expressed gratitude to the UAE government for creating a “window of employment” in the form of the new visa centre in Karachi.
He also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to assist people from Sindh and Balochistan in finding work in the UAE through this facility.
Over 1.6 million Pakistani expats live in, where they work in the public and private sectors and send over $4 billion in remittances each year. The establishment of the visa centre strengthens bilateral ties between the two countries.
Wizz Air has arrived in Pakistan
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, one of the largest airlines in the Emirates, will shortly begin flights to and from Pakistan, following authorisation from the federal government.
During a meeting in April of this year, the federal cabinet approved Wizz Air Abu Dhabi’s plans to operate in the country. Similarly, Pakistan has requested permission from the UAE to establish a private airline.
However, no progress has been made on this decision, and the name of the private airline has not yet been revealed.
