With the demise of the Note series, Samsung has reduced its smartphone release schedule, but it appears that the company is doing the inverse with its smartwatches. With three Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 models expected this year.
That’s up from two Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 versions last year, as evidenced by a trio of codenames discovered by Galaxy Club.
There’s the Heart-S, which has the model number SM-R90X and will come in 40mm and 42mm sizes, making it the smallest of the three.
Then there’s the Heart-L, which apparently has the model number SM-R91X and will supposedly come in 44mm and 46mm sizes.
The Heart-Pro, with the model number SM-R92X and apparently only available in one size, is the most intriguing, but we’d guess it’s quite enormous.
Finally, the site adds that all three Galaxy Watch 5 variants will be available in Europe, while no info on the rest of the world is available.
we’ve already heard news of a Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, as well as three different battery sizes indicated for different versions, so there’s a strong chance this is accurate.
The Heart-S will be the basic Samsung Galaxy Watch 5, the Heart-L the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Classic, and the Heart-Pro the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.
That hints that the Pro model will be more expensive than the Classic model, given that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic already starts at $349 / £349 / AU$549.
There has been speculation that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Classic will not be released. If there are three variants, it seems unlikely that the lowest end one would be the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Active, with the intermediate one being the normal Watch 5.
