In order to provide customers with safety, security features must not compromise usability, but this does not appear to be the case with Bank Alfalah‘s new feature for its mobile app. In the interest of security, the app has included a new function that stops you from signing in from two distinct mobile devices.
Since they are unable to access and control their bank accounts from two separate mobile phones, this has as predicted upset a number of people. Customers who previously logged into their bank accounts on one or more cellphones using the same account are experiencing login issues. Even worse, Bank Alfalah failed to inform its clients of the latest update.
Although some people have discovered a solution to this problem, not everyone is having success with it. In rare circumstances, you might be able to access your account if you clean away the app’s data in the phone’s settings.
Customers who desire to sign in with another mobile device must phone the bank and ask to have their account unbound from that device, according to the bank. The second phone will then require you to sign up with a new password and PIN. It is required to select a different password each time.
It is important to note that consumers may still access the same account from other computers, defeating the entire point of the new security feature.
“Our latest security feature binds a principal device of the customers. We understand this may have caused some inconvenience to only those customers who were accessing our digital banking from multiple devices. In the next few weeks we will introduce a slicker digital process of multiple device registration for the convenience of such customers who like to access digital banking on multiple devices without compromising on the security of 99% of our customer base who conduct baking on a single device.
