Samsung and Starbucks are collaborating on a new line of phone and earbud cases.
The phone cases will be made of a “eco-friendly material” and will fit the Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra, according to 9to5Google, which translated the original Korean post (opens in new tab).
Starbucks’ art style is reflected in the cases, which are inspired by the company’s branding. Certain items will be limited to specific phone models due to hardware limitations.
The Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus will come with two cases inspired by barista aprons.
Yes, truly. One will feature a simple Starbucks logo, while the other will feature the tagline “Count Stars in Your Galaxy.” The S22 Ultra will come with two cases with additional holes for the phone’s camera lenses.
Both have a back strap with a caricature of the company logo on one and a fake receipt on the other.
In addition to phone cases, Samsung and Starbucks have designed two Galaxy Buds 2 cases. The first is a simple green case with the Starbucks logo imprinted on the cover.
The second case is much cuter: it resembles a coffee mug, complete with latte art.
It’s unclear whether the collaboration will be released outside of South Korea.
The collection will be available through Starbucks’ Naver store on June 28. (Opens in new tab). According to 9to5Google, the drop will be limited, so if you have a way to ship them, act quickly.
We did ask Samsung if the lineup will be released internationally and what exactly is “eco-friendly material,” but we did not receive a response to either question. It should be noted that the S22 Ultra has similar-looking silicone cases (opens in new tab) with a strap on the back. This silicone material has been dubbed “eco-friendly.”
