Petrol price in Pakistan today, 06 October 2026, has gone up by Rs 0.88 per litre after the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) announced its latest fortnightly fuel price revision. At the same time, the diesel price in Pakistan has been cut by Rs 1.88 per litre, giving some relief to transporters and heavy vehicle operators.
New Petrol and Diesel Prices in Pakistan
The new petrol price and revised diesel rate are effective from 06 October 2026. Here is a full breakdown of the latest OGRA fuel prices:
| Fuel | New Price | Change |
|---|---|---|
| Petrol (Super) | Rs 393.64 per litre | +Rs 0.88 |
| High Speed Diesel (HSD) | Rs 397.76 per litre | -Rs 1.88 |
Why Did Fuel Prices Change?
OGRA reviews fuel prices on a fortnightly basis, taking into account movements in global crude oil markets, the Pakistan rupee exchange rate against the US dollar, and the landed cost of imported fuel. When international oil prices shift or the rupee weakens or strengthens, OGRA adjusts the new petrol price and diesel price in Pakistan accordingly to reflect the actual cost of supply. This latest revision shows a mixed trend, with petrol seeing a small uptick while high speed diesel becomes slightly cheaper.
What It Means for You
For everyday commuters who rely on petrol-powered bikes and cars, the Rs 0.88 per litre increase is modest and will have a limited impact on monthly fuel bills. However, the Rs 1.88 drop in the diesel price in Pakistan is more significant for truck drivers, bus operators, and farmers who use diesel-run machinery, as it should bring a small but welcome reduction in transport and logistics costs, which can eventually ease pressure on the prices of goods and food items across the country.
