A regional anti-corruption agent has been deputed to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for the first time in the organization’s history.
According to sources from Tuesday, Sufi Abdul Hafeez Chachar, the Deputy Director of the Sindh Anti-Corruption Establishment, was awarded the job in Karachi.
On the basis of his achievements, Abdul Hafeez was elevated to deputy director a few months ago from assistant director.
A probationary officer cannot be moved to another department, according to the report.
Despite this, the anti-corruption organisation has sent him for three years to the FIA’s State Bank Circle.
He now holds the distinction of becoming the first officer of his kind.
In other news, FIA Immigration detained a traveller earlier this week at Allama Iqbal International Airport for trying to leave the country using false documents.
Authorities claim that because the passenger, Abu Sufyan, was unable to respond to the clearance team’s questions, immigration security personnel suspected him.
Officers at immigration uncovered fake South African documents after examining his baggage. According to reports, the suspect has been sent to Lahore’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle for additional judicial proceedings.
