Steam has turned 20 and is celebrating by returning to its original colours of green with yellow buttons and a dedicated page that shows what transpired in each year since its inception in 2003.
Steam turned 20
This entertaining feature allows users to purchase the “Top Games” from critical years in the platform’s existence.
It also includes instructive footnotes, such as a sentimental tribute to the first Steam Sale, as well as the opportunity to purchase the original Portal game for $0.99.
It is also commemorating its 20th anniversary with a massive discount, with certain titles offering up to 90% off.
For example, you can presently acquire Titanfall 2 for $2.99, a game that was previously available for $29.99. At only $8.79, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is 80% discounted.
Newer titles, such as Amnesia: The Bunker, are also available at a discount. In fact, the whole Amnesia brand is featured in the sale, with all earlier titles discounted by 75%.
But it isn’t all. Some big AAA titles are also on sale, such as the remake of Dead Space, which is currently 40% off for $35.99. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, which originally priced $69.99, is now $34.99, while the original Modern Warfare is $19.79.
