Sony has a strong presence in the handheld console industry thanks to the PSP and PS Vita. Now, the corporation appears to be preparing to re-enter the portable gaming hardware industry.
It is presently testing the PlayStation Q Lite handheld gadget, which is currently undergoing QA testing, according to a recent report.

This new device is essentially a PlayStation 5 DualSense controller with a central 8-inch LCD screen.
There is, however, a catch: it will only work with Sony’s PlayStation Remote Play.

Although it will be able to stream PS5 games, it will not be able to play games without an internet connection.
It’s unknown whether it’ll be compatible with other cloud-based gaming platforms.
Details imply that Sony’s upcoming PlayStation handheld will be similar to the Nintendo Wii U GamePad, which connects to the Wii U through a modified low-latency Wi-Fi protocol and allows for gaming on a smaller screen as long as the console and device are on the same network.
Project Q Lite will include adaptive triggers, speakers, volume controls, and a 3.5mm audio jack, among other things. It will have a screen with a 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second.
The introduction of Sony’s new handheld gadget is predicted just after the release of the next PS5 with a detachable disc drive, which is likely to take place in September, and before the unveiling of the PlayStation 5 Pro, which is rumoured for late 2024.
