Tuesday’s assembly session saw the Sindh government make many significant decisions, including eliminating the film censorship charge and outlawing the hunting of birds.
Murad Ali Shah, the Chief Minister (CM) of Sindh, presided over the cabinet meeting.
The cabinet agreed to extend Khalid Bin Shaheen’s contract as chairman of the Sindh Board of Film Censor for another three years but decided against approving censorship fees for movies because of the CM’s plans to grow the sector.
The CM emphasised the need for encouraging filmmaking in an effort to grow the sector.
The government also decided to outlaw bird hunting for a year since so many of them had perished in the floods.
In light of bird breeding, the cabinet passed the Wildlife Protection, Preservation, and Management Rules for 2022.
The cabinet also approved the appointment of 193 instructors who had received invitations to interview, offers of employment, and authorizations for medical treatment in 2012. The hiring of an additional 104 people, whose medical exams were also finished in 2012, was also allowed.
In addition, at the request of the Universities & Boards department, the cabinet designated Karachi Medical & Dental College as an affiliated college and Abbasi Shaheed Hospital as a teaching hospital of Karachi Metropolitan University.
