This was a fast start for the 24-year-old. She missed the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and had a one-month suspension. She tested positive for marijuana. Now she is back. She won gold at the 2023 world championships. She had the best time at the U.S. Olympic trials. She wants to reach the Olympic podium. This podium has seen Ledecky and Biles often.

Richardson will run in the women’s 100m semifinal on Saturday. The time is 1:50 p.m. ET. You can watch on NBC and Peacock. If she makes it, she will run for gold a few hours later. She is also in the women’s 4×100-meter relay. This starts on Thursday, Aug. 8.
