Samsung has taken another big step in its global AI journey by expanding Galaxy AI’s language support. The tech giant has now added Filipino and Gujarati to its growing collection of supported languages. This update is part of Samsung’s broader goal to make artificial intelligence tools accessible for people from different regions and cultures, ensuring that technology speaks in every voice around the world.
From Launch to Global Reach
When Galaxy AI first launched in early 2024, it started with just a few major languages. Over the months, Samsung worked hard to include more people in its AI network. By April 2024, Galaxy AI supported 16 languages, and by December, that number reached 20. With the latest additions, the total has now climbed to 22, a remarkable global achievement for the company.
Connecting with Billions of Users
According to Samsung, these 22 supported languages now cover about 74% of the world’s population, which equals nearly 5.9 billion people. This impressive figure shows how deeply Galaxy AI has spread across borders and cultures. Samsung’s dream is clear — to create a smart world where people can communicate, create, and explore technology comfortably in their own languages.
New Additions: Filipino and Gujarati
The latest languages, Filipino and Gujarati, bring millions of new users closer to Samsung’s AI experience. Filipino is spoken by about 87 million people, mainly in the Philippines and among global Filipino communities. Gujarati, with roughly 62.5 million speakers, is widely used in India and among the Indian diaspora. By adding these two, Samsung strengthens its connection with Southeast Asia and South Asia’s large populations.
Regional Collaboration for Development
These new languages were not just added randomly. They were developed through close teamwork between Samsung Research centers in Indonesia and India. This regional collaboration highlights Samsung’s focus on understanding local cultures and linguistic styles. It ensures that Galaxy AI feels natural and accurate for native speakers, blending technology with cultural respect and deep research.
Easy Access through Language Packs
Samsung has made it simple for users to get started. Both Filipino and Gujarati can be downloaded as language packs directly from the Settings app. This allows users to customize their AI experience based on their comfort and needs. The company continues to make the process smooth, ensuring that every Galaxy AI user, no matter their background, can access tools that truly understand them.
Users Embrace AI Tools Enthusiastically
Samsung reports that over 70% of Galaxy S25 users now actively use Galaxy AI and Google Gemini features. These tools assist in everyday tasks such as translation, note-taking, and content creation. Even more impressively, around 47% of users rely on AI heavily in their daily routines. This shows how essential AI has become for modern smartphone users, turning complex work into effortless tasks.
Future Goals and Expanding Horizons
After crossing 200 million Galaxy AI-enabled devices last year, Samsung has set an ambitious target. The company aims to reach over 400 million devices by the end of 2025. With its continuous innovation and language expansion, Samsung is shaping the future of digital communication — one that speaks to billions in their native tongues and brings humanity and technology closer than ever before.
