The urban air mobility company BLADE India has started two additional helicopter flights between Bangalore International Airport and Hindustan Aeronautical Airport (HAL) in Bengaluru. With a starting ticket price of Rs 3,250 (taxes not included). A 12-minute air taxi service is expected to save customers two hours starting on October 10, 2022.
Bengaluru is undoubtedly regarded as the world’s most crowded metropolis. As a result, it might take up to 120 minutes to travel through its streets from HAL to Bangalore airport. By providing two helicopter trips, BLADE hopes to cut this travel time to 12 minutes. Additionally, the first leaves at 9 am, while the second arrives at 4:15 pm.
The major business hub of Bengaluru is not far from HAL. As a result, it is home to renowned retail areas like Indiranagar and Koramangala as well as, of course, IT parks. Every weekday, these single-engine planes with a capacity for people will take off and land.
These readily available helicopter trips may only be practical for emergencies, according to the majority of us. However, the operator stated that it somewhat seeks to make air transportation accessible.
“Our ability to democratize urban air travel is the key to our success. With today’s launch, we can provide a convenient entry point even though helicopter services are a high-end offering, according to the managing director of BLADE India Amit Dutta. Additionally, the business that specializes in short-haul flights has agreed to provide over 200 air taxis to India by the year 2026.
