As the country braced for Imran Khan’s ‘lockdown’ march to Islamabad, journalist Omar Cheema revealed alarming details on his YouTube channel, Omar Cheema Exclusive, regarding the former spymaster Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hamid’s involvement with the PTI.PTI office raid revealed During the PTI Secretariat raid last month, authorities seized material that outlined Faiz’s role in assisting the PTI.
On July 13, Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hamid was detained by the army in a case linked to land grabbing and the alleged robbery of a private housing society owner. Omar Cheema disclosed that the PTI leadership was trained by Gen Faiz on evading Intelligence agencies, as Faiz himself was considered an “inside man.”
According to Cheema, the army had issues with some of its members‘ association with the PTI, and Gen Faiz was reportedly leading the internal rebellion. He mentioned that even from within jail, certain individuals appeared to be enjoying special privileges, drawing a parallel to Imran Khan, the PTI founder.
Cheema further claimed that the Top City Case, in which Gen Faiz has been convicted, was merely a façade. The real reason behind his arrest was his unwavering support for PTI and Imran Khan. “This is a huge blow to Imran Khan,” Cheema stated, emphasizing that the arrest of one of Khan’s staunchest supporters could significantly impact the ongoing face-off between the army and the PTI.
