It is the start of the latest round of price increases, which has been initiated by the automaker with the least market presence.
Al-Haj Proton has raised the prices of all Saga and X70 versions, citing increased currency rates and shipping and raw material expenses.
The revised pricing go into effect immediately, on June 22, 2022.
The Proton Saga’s price has been increased by a massive Rs 230,000, with the base 1.3L MT variant now costing PKR 25.79 lac, the 1.3L AT variant now costing PKR 27.29 lac, and the flagship Saga Ace AT now costing PKR 28.49 lac.
The X70, on the other hand, has had its price increased by Rs 650,000. The X70 Executive AWD variant now costs PKR 60.5 lac, while the flagship Premium 2WD variant costs PKR 64.0 lac.
Despite the fact that local assembly operations have finally begun, Proton is still dealing with a huge number of deliveries for the X70, which debuted in December 2020, and the Saga, which debuted in April 2021.
Several customers have been waiting for over a year for the delivery of their booked units, but prices of Proton cars have already increased multiple times during this time.
