As the 100,000th Taycan leaves the assembly line, Porsche celebrates. The milestone came around three years after Taycan manufacturing began at Porsche’s main facility in Zuffenhausen in September 2019.
The 100,000th item, a Taycan Turbo S with Neptune Blue paint, will be purchased by a client in the UK. Kevin Giek, the vice president of Model Line Taycan, commented on the event and said:
“We are very pleased to have reached this milestone in production history so quickly – despite the recent challenges posed by the semiconductor shortage and the volatile Covid situation. With the Taycan, we have made a decidedly successful start in the electric age.”
The United States, China, and the United Kingdom/Republic of Ireland are now Porsche’s top three individual markets for its all-electric sports vehicle. The Taycan sports sedan, Taycan Cross Turismo, and Taycan Sport Turismo are the three body types that are currently offered for the car.
With either rear- or all-wheel drive, up to 5 engine options are available. The most potent variant, the Taycan Turbo S, holds the quickest EV record on the Nürburgring with a time of 7.33 minutes and a maximum drive range of 513 km (WLTP).
