The continual supply of gas to the populace throughout Iftar and Sehri was ordered by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday.
During a meeting that he presided over, the prime minister received a thorough report on the low pressure, interruption, and load-shedding of gas in Karachi.
Under the Prime Minister’s instructions, the authorities addressed Karachi’s gas load-shedding problem and allayed residents’ objections.
While taking strict note of the gas load shedding issue that was brought up in the parliament, PM Shehbaz stated that a thorough strategy should be created to ensure that people have uninterrupted access to gas throughout Ramadan.
The government carried out the prime minister’s directives by implementing emergency steps to stop gas load shedding.
According to the PM, the gas delivery procedure should be closely monitored and no neglect should be accepted.
SSGC Announcement on Gas Supply
The Sui Southern Gas Corporation (SSGC) on Thursday announced its decision to halt supplies to captive power plants and businesses due to the expanding imbalance between gas supply and demand.
According to the gas utility, the decision was made in light of the limited gas supply.
According to the local news channel, it indicated that a decrease in supply has resulted in a fall in the volume of gas in pipelines.
According to the SSGC, captive industries and power plants will once again have access to gas starting at 8 am today (Friday). Many locals protested the interruption of the gas supply last week.
People all around the country are having a terrible time getting by because the gas supply has been suspended. This is especially true during Sehar and Iftar.
The National Assembly received assurances from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif a day earlier that his administration would solve the issue of gas load shedding, particularly during Sehar and Iftar, as people have been filing complaints due to inflation weariness.
In response to MNA Syed Agha Rafiullah’s point of order, the prime minister informed the House that he had already noted the issue.
PM Shehbaz mentioned calling a meeting to talk with the gas load shedding issue. “We will leave no stone unturned to address this issue,” the prime minister assured the House.
Consumers who complained about not having enough of this necessary fuel at mealtimes were displeased last week when the SSGC announced that gas will be delivered to domestic consumers during the holy month of Ramazan, but for just a limited number of hours.
Due to a 250 million mmbtu deficiency, the utility had warned that gas pressure will be low from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
Gas will be provided to customers in Karachi for Iftar from 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., and for Sehar from 2:30 a.m. to 5 a.m., according to the SSGC helpdesk.
Customers would experience total suspension or low pressure for the remaining hours, the gas utility added.
