A reputable Japanese trading corporation and its Irish partner have made Pakistan an offer to purchase Russian oil as well as LNG from Nigeria at a price that is 35% less than the market cost.
In a meeting, the Pakistani ambassador in Tokyo was presented with this proposition by the Japanese company’s representative.
The President of the Pak-Japan Business Council, Rana Abid Hussain, is a Pakistani businessman who lives in Japan.
Brief on Oil and Gas to the Ambassador
The ambassador was briefed on LNG and oil by a Japanese representative. He said that the licenses to sell Russian oil and LNG from Nigeria are held by his Japanese firm and its partner company in Ireland.
The Japanese envoy claimed that if Pakistan wanted to buy petrol and gas, they could do it at a price that was 35% less than the market price.
In this instance, the Pakistani representative Raza Bashir Tarar stated that Pakistan can take this offer into consideration and will tell the relevant government.
He would let the Japanese corporation know when he received a response.
Rana Abid Hussain, president of the Pak-Japan Business Council, stated that Pakistan is currently experiencing a terrible economic crisis and is being compelled to spend a significant amount of foreign currency on the import of petrol and gas.
