The caretaker government announced a hike in petroleum product prices on Thursday, bringing the price of petrol to an all-time high of Rs. 305.36 per litre.

According to a Finance Division statement of revised pricing, the price of petrol has increased by Rs. 14.91 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel has climbed by Rs. 18.44 per litre.

Statement By Finance Division
According to a brief statement published by the Finance Division, the government has decided to modify the current consumer pricing of petroleum products due to increases in international petroleum prices and exchange rate fluctuations.
The price of petrol increased to Rs. 305.36 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel increased to Rs. 311.84 per litre.
The Interim Government has also increased the fuel duty from Rs. 55 per litre to a maximum of Rs. 60 per litre.
The price of kerosene has also been increased by Rs. 16.37 per litre, to Rs. 233.52 per litre. The price of light diesel oil has risen by Rs. 10.34, and it will now cost Rs. 210.13 a litre.
