The price of petroleum products will not change for the next 15 days, the federal administration stated on Thursday.
Ishaq Dar, the finance minister, announced during a press conference in Islamabad that the present prices will be in place until June 30.
The minister claimed that during the previous two rounds, the cost of gasoline products had been drastically reduced. He noted that high-speed diesel costs had decreased by 35 rupees, while petrol prices had decreased by 20 rupees.
Petrol Prices In International Market Increased
He claimed that from June 1 to June 15, gasoline product prices climbed marginally on the global market; as a result, the administration opted to maintain the same prices.
In addition to replacing compressed natural gas (CNG), gasoline is also used in motorbikes and compact automobiles.
The LDO is employed in industry, whereas the HSD is frequently used in the transportation and agricultural industries. The price drop for HSD will benefit farmers and could result in lower transportation costs for commodities.
In distant areas of Pakistan, particularly in the north, where liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is not readily available for cooking purposes, kerosene oil is used.
