Musadik Malik, Pakistan’s state minister for petroleum, stated on Saturday that Pakistan will receive the same discount on the import of Russian crude as other nations, including Pakistan’s neighbors.
Without delving into specifics about the concession, the minister stated during a Jirga segment on Geo News that Russia had informed Pakistan it will receive the same deal as other nations.
Next month, the minister said, Pakistan will place an order for Russian crude. He also stated that it will take roughly 26 days for the shipment to arrive in Pakistan once the order is placed.
Currency mode of Payment for Crude Oil
Without providing a particular response, the minister responded that Pakistan has no concerns about the currency in which the payments will be made when asked if they will be made in US dollars.
Russia is currently one of India’s top oil suppliers, and most of India’s purchases of Russian oil have been made in non-dollar currencies like the United Arab Emirates dirham and the Russian rouble.
