Pakistan LEAP 2026 is live in Riyadh today, with IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja heading a national pavilion of 20 technology firms before nearly 1,900 global investors at one of the world’s biggest tech summits. The four-day event, running from 31 August to 3 September 2026, is Pakistan’s most important annual window into the Gulf’s fast-growing digital economy, and this year the stakes are higher than ever.

What Is LEAP 2026 and Why Pakistan Is There

LEAP 2026 is a four-day global technology event that brings together more than 1,800 technology companies, 600 startups, 1,900 investors and over 1,000 speakers as Saudi Arabia pours investment into technology and innovation under its Vision 2030 plan. The 2026 edition was moved from April to the end of August, but the pull for Pakistani firms remains the same: direct access to serious capital in a market that is actively spending.

The event is expected to welcome over 200,000 visitors, making it far bigger than a standard trade show. For Pakistan, the question is simple: can a week in Riyadh turn into real contracts and real foreign investment back home?

Based on past results, the answer seems to be yes. Pakistan recorded its largest-ever presence at LEAP last year, with more than 100 companies and over 1,500 delegates. A post-event report by PSEB said Pakistan’s participation generated $9.74 million in business and 78 leads. That is a concrete number that most coverage of this year’s event quietly ignores, and it sets a clear benchmark for 2026.

Pakistan LEAP 2026 Pavilion, Who Is There and What They Are Selling

Pakistan has a dedicated pavilion featuring 20 technology companies through the Pakistan Software Export Board and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, while other Pakistani firms and startups are also attending the event independently. P@SHA, the Pakistan Software Houses Association, is also bringing its own delegation alongside the official contingent.

Pakistani technology companies heading to Saudi Arabia are looking beyond exhibition booths and networking, with several seeking clients, partnerships and a permanent foothold in the Kingdom’s rapidly expanding digital economy.

For firms that have attended before, the returns compound over time. For some returning companies the event has already translated into tangible business opportunities in Saudi Arabia. “This is the fourth edition that we would be attending at LEAP,” said Abdul Muqsit Abbasi, CEO of Karachi-based ByteCorp Technologies. “We’ve made very deep industry connections,” he said.

The Saudi government has also made it easier to stay. The Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia (MISA) set up a help desk at LEAP to help Pakistani companies register, enabling over 100 firms to establish themselves in the Kingdom. That kind of on-the-ground support is rare at global tech events and gives Pakistani companies a real head start.

Why Saudi Arabia Matters for Pakistan’s IT Sector

Saudi Arabia’s focus on AI, fintech, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and smart city solutions presents lucrative opportunities for Pakistani IT firms. These are exactly the areas where Pakistani software houses, many with competitive pricing and a large English-speaking talent pool, can win work.

The broader IT export picture adds urgency to every deal signed at LEAP. ICT export remittances reached $3.38 billion during July to March of FY2025-26, up 19.7 percent year-on-year. The government has set an even bolder long-term goal: it plans to reach $25.1 billion in ICT exports by 2030 through large-scale human capital development including training, international certifications and industry collaboration. Deals sealed at events like LEAP are how that gap gets closed.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have also already built institutional bridges. The GO AI Hub was inaugurated in Islamabad as a major Pakistan-Saudi initiative to accelerate AI innovation and talent development, focusing on advanced research, industry-grade AI solutions, skill development, and market linkages with the Gulf region. That shared infrastructure gives companies attending LEAP 2026 a credible story to tell Saudi partners about long-term commitment.

For companies and policymakers tracking where Pakistan’s tech investment is heading, the Pakistan Startup Fund Phase 2 opening is another piece of the same puzzle, showing that Gulf and multilateral capital are both being courted at the same time.

What the Pakistan Pavilion Needs to Prove

The gap that most coverage of Pakistan LEAP 2026 misses is the practical question: what does success actually look like after the banners come down? At LEAP 2025, $9.74 million in business from 100-plus companies works out to less than $100,000 per firm on average. That is useful, but it is a starting point, not a destination.

The shift Pakistan needs is from short-term leads to anchor clients and registered Saudi entities. PSEB generated $73.9 million in reported new business from 20 technology events across the full FY2025-26 year, which shows the cumulative value of consistent international presence. LEAP, as the single biggest event in that calendar, has to carry a significant share of that total.

The 2025 LEAP event acted as a launchpad for a staggering $14.9 billion in deals and announcements across all participating countries. Pakistan capturing even a fraction of that kind of deal flow would be transformative for IT export targets.

The SECP’s digital overhaul is also working in the background, making it easier for foreign investors to put money into Pakistani tech companies, which gives the LEAP conversations a cleaner path to actual investment.
