Today on Monday morning Pakistan sees a significant power outage that affected many cities, including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore and Quetta.
The national grid’s system frequency broke down at 7:34 a.m. today, triggering a broad disruption in the electrical system, the Ministry of Energy stated in a tweet.

“System maintenance work is progressing rapidly,” assured the ministry, adding that restoration of grid stations from Warsak has begun.
It stated that a small number of grids operated by the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) and Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) had been restored in the previous hour.

Imran Rana, a spokesman for K-Electric, tweeted that the firm is “investigating the issue.” Approximately 90% of Karachi has been impacted, according to reports.
There are reports of multiple outages from different parts of the city. We are investigating the issue and will keep this space posted.

The first (Pvt) Automated Weather Stations Network in Pakistan, PakWeather.com, also reported a power outage in several cities, including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, and Quetta.

The IESCO official claims that 117 IESCO grid stations’ electrical supply has been cut off.
The IESCO Region Control Center has not yet provided a clear explanation for the suspension, but the business insisted that its “management is in constant communication with the concerned authorities”.
