The first Test, scheduled to begin on Thursday, was postponed until 7:30 AM tomorrow after the Pakistan Cricket Board and England and Wales Cricket Board met today to examine the viral virus epidemic in the England men’s Test squad camp.
The two boards agreed that the England cricket team can choose an XI for the first of the three ICC World Test Championship matches, which would be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, based on medical advice from the England physicians that was focused on the health and welfare of the players.
The two boards have agreed that if the England players are unable to recover sufficiently to play on Thursday morning, the Test will start on Friday and last five days. In this case, the second Test in Multan and the third Test in Karachi will proceed according to their original schedules, which are respectively 9–13 and 17–21 December.
