The authorities have finalized the security plan for the first Test match between Pakistan and Australia, which will take place on March 4 at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.
The authorities have decided to deploy Pakistan Army troops to secure the cricket matches and the visiting team, according to sources.
More than 4,000 police officers and elite commandos will be stationed at the stadium and surrounding areas as part of the security plan.
During the match days in Rawalpindi, Double Road, Allama Iqbal Park, Food Street, Shahbaz Sharif Sports Complex, and Arts Council will be closed.
Additionally, cellular services will be suspended in the Pindi Cricket Stadium’s surrounding areas during match hours.
The Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Service will be suspended for two hours in the morning and evening, as teams will use the Murree Road to travel between the hotel and the stadium before and after the game.
According to a senior police officer, people will not be permitted to stand on tall buildings, plazas, or metro bus tracks surrounding the stadium. Snipers would be stationed on the buildings that surround the cricket stadium.
