Over the last two years, the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has accepted 1,325 applications for affiliation from both within and outside the country.
According to the FBISE, 1,740 educational institutions were affiliated with it between 1975 and 2020.
After 2020, the number increased to 3,065 due to the addition of 1,325 new schools and colleges that received affiliations. FBISE stated that it has launched an online affiliation web portal in the last two years.
The integration of information technology into the board’s operations has enabled this increase in the number of affiliated schools and colleges.
According to FBISE, the large number of affiliated schools and colleges demonstrates a high level of public trust in the board.
This also demonstrates that people have a strong belief in the board’s ability to provide quality education and effectively oversee educational institutions.
Separately, the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has changed the operating hours of educational institutes under its jurisdiction.
The new schedule will be in effect from January 11 until further orders are received. In addition, the FDE has changed the dress code policy for schools and colleges.
Students are now permitted to wear any colour of warm clothing. Both of these regulations apply to private schools and colleges.
