This past weekend marked the close of FoodAg-2023, the first ever International Food and Agriculture Exhibition held in Pakistan and organised by the Trade and Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).
More than 221 exporters displayed over 500 high-quality items at the event, which resulted in deals totaling $410 million and the signing of 10 memoranda of understanding.
Pakistan food expo was a success
The convention was attended by around 600 foreign purchasers from 60 nations, the majority of whom were Chinese. Famous worldwide companies like Japan’s Metro, Amazon, and Hello Fresh, Germany’s Vitana Food and Shana Food, and Iran’s Vitana Food and Zensho Trading were all present. More than 5,000 business-to-business meetings yielded $410 million in closed deals.
The one-day investment conference drew over a thousand attendees and had 26 talks with regulators to reduce non-tariff obstacles and expand market access for Pakistani goods. In addition to serving as a venue for business, the event also served to highlight the work of regulatory bodies in Pakistan, such as the Department of Plant Protection, the Animal Quarantine Department, the Marine Fisheries Department, and the IPO.
China, Tajikistan, Turkey, Japan, ASEAN countries, the United States, Senegal, Kenya, Rwanda, Poland, Germany, Italy, Russia, Australia, Saudi Arabia, and Sri Lanka were all represented at the conference, allowing for high-level exchanges amongst their respective delegations. These talks explored the complexities and opportunities of bilateral trade, with the goals of addressing mutual issues and strengthening economic ties.
The three-day Global Cuisine presentation was one of the event’s most talked-about features, since it featured international chefs cooking delicious meals with Pakistani ingredients.
