OpenAI retracted its decision to fire Sam Altman, just two days after Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella appointed him to head a new advanced AI research unit.

However, ChatGPT makers announced a new deal on November 22 that will see Altman take over as CEO of the company once again. Through an official tweet, the company affirmed this choice.

Furthermore, OpenAI states that Altman and the business “are collaborating to figure out the details.” Sam Altman retweeted the onboarding announcement with a “heart” emoji in response, expressing his readiness to join OpenAI.

Satya Nadella backed Altman and president Greg Brockman’s decision to return to OpenAI, citing the necessity of doing so to guarantee the organization’s survival and forward its goals.

Employees Reaction
Furthermore, a letter purportedly signed by 505 of the 700 workers at OpenAI on November 20 said that Altman’s dismissal by the board compromised the company’s goals.
However, the letter stated, “The process through which you terminated Sam Altman and removed Greg Brockman from the board has jeopardized all of this work and undermined our mission and company.”
Together with Microsoft’s prompt employment offer, the outcry from OpenAI staff confirmed Altman’s leadership position in the AI industry.
