The Punjab Mass Transit Authority has shared an official clarification regarding the eTransit App e-Wallet and the T-Cash physical card. This step aims to answer public questions and ensure passengers understand how both payment systems work. The authority emphasized transparency and passenger convenience in its official statement.
Separate Systems for Payments
According to the clarification, the eTransit App e-Wallet and the T-Cash card work independently. Payments made via PSID are reflected only in the e-Wallet and do not appear in the T-Cash card balance. Each system has its own functions and is designed for specific uses to make payments more manageable.
T-Cash Card Functions
The T-Cash card, issued by the Bank of Punjab, serves as a separate account. It can be used for ATM cash withdrawals and shopping wherever Mastercard is accepted. This allows users to manage money outside transit, making the T-Cash card versatile for general financial transactions beyond commuting needs.
e-Wallet for Travel Only
The eTransit App e-Wallet balance is strictly for travel-related expenses on mass transit services. Funds added to the e-Wallet are secure. However, the balance cannot be transferred to the T-Cash card, and the T-Cash card balance cannot be moved to the e-Wallet, keeping both systems distinct.
Ensuring Transparency and Convenience
The Punjab Mass Transit Authority stated that this clarification aims to ensure transparency and convenience for all passengers. Users are encouraged to check official platforms for accurate information on eTransit and T-Cash systems. The authority assures that both systems are reliable and designed to make commuting and financial transactions safe and straightforward.
