If Nothing’s bracket-loving naming scheme had you convinced that the company’s next smartphone would be the Nothing Phone (2), the Nothing Phone (1) will receive a “lite” version sibling.
This would be the same device as the Nothing Phone (1), but with a plain glass back (no fancy LED Glyph Interface) and no wireless charging. Despite continuing to support 33W charging, the “lite” model would include a 42W charger in the box.
For what it’s worth, nothing has denied the existence of such a product. Despite this, rumours persist that the “lite” Nothing will be less expensive than the Phone (1) – which makes sense given the two features that have been removed.
According to “some indications,” the new phone will start at $316 or €308 in India for a variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
For comparison, the current Nothing Phone (1) starts at $417 or €407, but it has 8GB of RAM. Several other sources have even stated that this device will have a larger 5,000 mAh battery, with the thicker cell presumably filling the space occupied by the LEDs and wireless charging coil in the original Nothing Phone (1).
