For Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the National Information Technology Board (NITB) has created an automated water billing platform.
According to information provided by NITB, the organization has worked with the Directorate of Revenue Public Health Engineering Azad Kashmir to create a unique, innovative solution that is user-friendly and convenient for AJK residents.
The NITB claims that citizens would be able to submit digital applications for water connections through the Water Billing PHE-AJK portal.
Additionally, customers will be able to use this site to file their complaints.
The software has been provided without charge by the National Information Technology Board to the Directorate of Revenue Public Health Engineering in Azad Kashmir.
Director of Revenue Public Health Engineering Azad Kashmir Asif Mehmood stated that NITB had assisted his department in the development of this portal, which includes two portions, one pertaining to the department and the other one to users.
With the implementation of this system, the department will no longer need to manually issue water bills.
According to Asif, NITB provided the software, while the AJK government received 20 million redesigned PC-1s for the purchase of hardware.
By adding additional government funding to the department’s existing budget, the system may be launched in Mirpur in two to three months.
Following the government’s approval of PC1, this system will be implemented throughout Azad Kashmir.
With the help of this portal, consumers will be able to submit their water bills online in addition to viewing their invoices online.
The department would also accept online water bill complaints from customers, he added.
