The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has made its Pak ID mobile app, the successor to the current app, available to the public in beta form.
The program now allows citizens to apply for their identification documents and cards online.
This app allows users to apply for government-issued identification from the comfort of their own homes, with the added convenience of having that identification mailed directly to them.
By using the Pak ID app, citizens no longer have to wait in lengthy lines at NADRA offices to apply for important identity documents including CNICs and family registration certificates.
NADRA’s new system is built on document recognition system
NADRA Chairman Tariq Malik highlighted the most important features of the new mobile app, saying that the newest version of Pak ID mobile has a built-in document recognition system and contactless biometric verification that allows users to enjoy a wholesome experience through a full suite of ID issuance services, including document uploading and submission, photo and fingerprint capture, and digital signature addition, all from the convenience of their smartphones.
