Motorola released the Moto G 5G as its most cheap 5G gadget a few years ago. Its successor was introduced in 2022, and a new version of the phone is currently available. In addition, the latest version of the Moto G Stylus was unveiled today.
Both models have undergone cost-cutting measures in order to reduce their prices, which has resulted in some feature limitations.
Motorola G 5G (2023)
The chipset is the most noticeable difference between the Moto G 5G 2023 and the 2022 models.
The new motorola model features a budget Snapdragon 480+ chip rather than the mid-range Snapdragon 750, which also explains why this year’s model is significantly less expensive.
This chip is paired with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of expandable storage via a microSD card slot. The phone boots the Android 13 operating system right out of the box.
The new model, like the 2022 model, has a 6.5-inch LCD with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9.
However, the refresh rate on this year’s display is 120Hz, up from 90Hz on the previous model. The original 2020 model had a larger 6.7-inch 1080p display.
The phone has a 48MP camera on the rear with an aperture of f/1.7, native pixels of 0.8m (1.6m after binning), and two 2MP modules – one for depth and one for macro pictures. The primary camera can record 1080p films at 30 frames per second.
The phone also has an 8MP front-facing camera (f/2.0, 1.12m) that can shoot 1080p movies at 30 frames per second and can be used for face unlocking. Users can also utilise the fingerprint reader to unlock their devices.
The 5,000 mAh battery has a cable charging capacity of 15W. The Moto G 5G (2023) will cost $250 in the United States, which is $200 less than its predecessor.
Stylus Motorola G (2023)
The Moto G Stylus (2023) is a 4G-only handset featuring a Helio G85 processor. It includes 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, which can be upgraded with a microSD card up to 1TB.
The phone has a smaller 6.5′′ IPS LCD with 720p resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz, making it less suitable for stylus use.
The Moto G Stylus (2023) camera system has a 50MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and smaller 0.64m pixels that add up to 1.28m.
The main camera can record 1080p video at 30 frames per second. In addition, there is a 2MP macro camera on the rear and an 8MP front-facing camera that can shoot 1080p video at 30fps for selfies.
This one, like the Moto G 5G (2023), has a 5,000 mAh battery with 15W fast charging. The Moto G Stylus 2023 will cost $200, which is $100 less than the previous generation.
