The weather forecast says Sindh and eastern Balochistan will get rain on July 8-9. Upper and central parts of the country will get monsoon rain from July 10-15. This includes Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) gave this forecast on Monday.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called a meeting with the Disaster Response Committee (DRC). The meeting was held in Islamabad. They talked about getting ready for emergencies, what things they need, when to give warnings, and plans to help neighborhoods.
The weather office said big winds from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are coming. These winds will reach the top part of the country by July 10th.
Rain and wind with monsoon thundershowers will hit Azad Kashmir from July 10-16. Karachi and other Sindh cities will get rain today. Lahore and Islamabad will get showers from July 10. Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, and other places will get rain from the evening of July 10 to July 15.
Monsoon Thundershowers Expected in Dir, Swat from July 11-15
Places like Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, D.G. Khan, Multan, and others will get rain from July 12-14. Rain with wind and thundershowers will hit Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, and other places from July 11-15.
Balochistan will feel hot and humid in most places. Places like Khuzdar, Kalat, Ziarat, Zhob, Barkhan, Musa Khel, and Shirani will have rain on July 9. More rain is expected from July 12 to 14.
Sindh will also be very hot and humid. Cities like Jacobabad, Sukkur, Shikarpur, Larkana, Dadu, Padidan, and others will get rain on July 9. More rain is expected on July 12 and 13.
In Gilgit-Baltistan, the weather will be partly cloudy. Areas like Diamer, Astore, Skardu, and others will get rain from July 11 to 15.
Heavy rain could cause floods in low areas in northeastern Punjab. Mudslides could block roads in hilly areas, including KP, Murree, Galliyat, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Heavy rain may disrupt daily life, damage structures, electric poles, and vehicles. Farmers should plan their work according to the weather. Travelers should be careful and plan their trips to avoid danger.
The Disaster Response Committee met in Islamabad at NDMA. They talked about getting ready for the rainy season. NDMA’s leader, Lt Gen Inam Haider Malik, spoke about preparing for emergencies. He said it’s important to be ready to help quickly.
Minister Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhry said everyone needs to work together. This will help them react fast during the rainy season. He asked local governments to make places for animals to stay safe. He also asked PDMAs to plan how to manage disasters well.
