In China, BYD has announced the 2022 Tang EV makeover. The BYD Tang debuted at the 2018 Guangzhou Auto Show and has now gotten a facelift after nearly 3.5 years on the market.
The new Tang does have a re-sculpted sportier bumper with more aggressive outer ends, a full-width horizontal bar that flows into the side air vents, and a taller lower air intake, as well as the latest incarnation of BYD’s signature ‘Dragon Face’ design. The redesigned fascia provides it with a more BYD Han-like look.
The new Tang EV has new 21-inch alloy wheels on the sides, which are paired with new Michelin PS4 tires with 265/45R 21 for improved traction and quietness. A sportier bumper with repositioned light reflectors, black fins, and short vertical air vents adds to the appearance at the rear.
The Tang EV will be offered in a new 2+2+2 seating configuration with individual seats in the second row in 2022, according to BYD. Individual chairs, massage, ventilation, and warmth are all included in the 6-seat version. The Tang EV also has a W-HUD heads-up display, a DiLink 4.0 (5G) intelligent network system, and enhanced DiPilot ADAS features.
