LUMS’s team of seven students won this global tournament for Pakistan. Rohail Hasan led the team, which featured Sabeen Hamood, Hubaib Shehryar, Laiba Abid, Mahnoor Gul, Shanzay Hashim, and Malik Danyal Khan.
They got the Best Small Delegation trophy after successfully defending their title of Best Delegation for the second year in a row. The United States Military Academy finished as runners-up.
The Harvard National Model United Nations is among the world’s oldest and most distinguished model UN conferences.
It is ranked first, with 1500-1800 delegates from throughout the world debating policy on urgent international issues.
The Harvard National MUN is well-known as the most difficult and competitive debating tournament in the world, featuring teams from prestigious universities such as Princeton, Stanford, and Yale.
This win, as the first by a non-American or European team, is significant for Lums, Pakistan, and Asia as a whole.
