UAE, Dubai – Kia’s EV6 GT has won the title of 2023 World Performance Car, an extraordinary achievement at this year’s World Car Awards.
The awards were given out by a panel of 100 highly regarded international automotive writers from 32 different nations and were announced at a ceremony held in conjunction with the New York International Auto Show.
The judges’ affirmation of Kia’s vehicles is additional confirmation of the company’s commitment to developing forward-thinking mobility solutions that benefit society in keeping with its ‘Movement That Inspires’ philosophy, after having reviewed a wide variety of vehicles from around the world.
To be acknowledged in this fashion by the World Car Awards’ judges is a huge pleasure,” said Ho Sung Song, president and chief executive officer of Kia Corporation. As Kia evolves into a global leader in sustainable solutions, we are working tirelessly to design and build vehicles that satisfy consumers’ needs while also thrilling them with their innovation, technology, and aesthetics. This most recent honor is further proof that our approach has been fruitful.
KIA wins award as a result of improving its models
The Kia EV6 GT, winner of the prestigious 2023 World Performance Car award, improves upon the already impressive standard model, which has won multiple prestigious awards including the 2022 Car of the Year and the 2023 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year.
The all-electric EV6 GT’s long-range capability, spacious cabin, and smart design helped it outperform more conventional gasoline-powered sports vehicles. Its combined power output of 430 kW (585 PS) allowed it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and reach a high speed of 260 km/h.
The new brand approach for Kia, reflected in the EV6 GT’s design, places an emphasis on the role that exploration plays in shaping a person’s identity and personal growth. Kia aspires to enable customers to build these connections by furnishing them with engaging products, cutting-edge interiors, and hassle-free services that motivate them to follow their passions and provide them more time to do so.
