On Tuesday, a revolutionary new program called “water ambulance” was introduced, guaranteeing rapid medical transportation for Karachi residents. Non-governmental organizations (NGOs), government officials, and local communities have worked together to solve the long-standing healthcare dilemma faced by residents of the Baba, Bhit, and Shams Pir islands off the coast of Karachi.
Women who were pregnant and needed immediate medical assistance were especially concerned about the lack of a hospital. However, the introduction of a water ambulance has provided much-needed respite, vastly expanding the island community’s access to and availability of medical care. It was distressing to watch the challenges experienced by the people living on these islands,” one member of the NGO working on the project said.
Water ambulances in Karachi will of great help to pregnant women
In the event of an emergency, pregnant women had to be transferred to a hospital on the mainland, which may mean a long and dangerous voyage. The goal of this program is to solve this problem and guarantee that no one goes without needed medical attention. According to authorities, people in need can always get in touch with the water ambulance because it is available around the clock and can be accessed through cellphone.
The new program would help people in need of quick medical assistance by providing them with access to medical personnel and the required equipment. The water ambulance is more than just a ride; it also provides a free place to sleep.
