In an effort to reduce nighttime load-shedding in light of the current power supply challenges, K-Electric (KE) has announced a revised load-shedding timetable for its customers from July 1.
The spokeswoman for KE was reported by news agencies as saying, “This modification in time is in keeping with our talks with several stakeholders, including the Ministry of Energy Sindh and Commissioner Karachi. We are doing everything we can to find assistance in resolving these problems.
The amended load-shedding timetable has been made accessible to the public on KE’s website. Customers may locate their specific schedules using their account numbers. Through KE’s SMS service, KE is also properly informing registered customers, the spokeswoman said.
The official said that feeders supplying Karachi’s industrial zones as well as strategically important institutions like the airport and the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) will continue to get uninterrupted electricity.
According to KE, the new load-shedding plan is applicable on an ongoing daily basis and is unrelated to power outages caused by network maintenance requirements or technical issues. It further stated that personnel from the company would be on hand to “rectify identified faults” and that people could reach them 24/7 at the “118” call center number.
Customers may also check the KE Live app for updates on their power statuses if their outages last more than 30 to 40 minutes during the load-shedding intervals.
