Salman Rana and Muhammad Faisal from the K-electric PMO department are on a panel discussion with Waqas Zuber from TechX Pakistan. IT Strategy and Execution will be the subject of the conversation.
Due to the eventual vast gaps in-between, it has been determined why IT strategies are developed but are less likely to be implemented. The confirmation and identification of such gaps will serve as the foundation for the conversation.
Mr. Rana expresses his thoughts on the issue, claiming that the main cause of the discrepancy is the IT strategy, which is mostly derived from business strategy, and that the majority of firms typically lack established business strategies. Gaps arise because IT strategy is frequently not in line with business strategy; IT strategy must be in line with corporate strategy.
In expressing his views on IT methods, he claims that IT-based individuals typically lack understanding, which poses a hurdle. The issue emerges when they just pay attention to the region where income is created rather than the main IT sector.
The significance of how business strategy should be in line with IT strategy and how IT can aid in business growth should be emphasised. This deficiency causes a problem and a gap.
In this high-speed environment, the budget gap makes it more difficult to get resources. When it comes to using such talents, execution becomes challenging, which undermines strategy.
In the meanwhile, Mr. Faisal expresses his opinions on the matter of unachievable goals and cites resources and inflation as the causes.
Consider a situation where a project was supposed to be completed but was delayed owing to external factors like high staff turnover and employees rushing to get raises. According to him, the primary weakness in IT strategy and execution is the improper management and recruitment of the expertise.
Not only should the corporation pay its employees according to the market, but also to their talents.
When it is decided who will be in charge of overseeing IT strategy implementation and if the supervisors will be employed inside or through outsourcing, a quick decision must be made.
IT is based on the idea that business and outcomes are linked. Appropriate techniques can lessen several limits and dangers.
Company data pulses need to be controlled and driven in order to close the execution gap.
