Peshawar Zalmi’s batting got off to a shaky start as they lost early wickets. Shoaib Malik’s experience and Sherfane Rutherford‘s explosiveness helped them steady the ship. They put on a fantastic recovery before Ben Cutting closed the game in a spectacular manner, helping Zalmi record 168/6.
The openers of Islamabad United got off to a flying start, dismantling Zalmi’s bowling attack. United chased down the target with 9 wickets in hand and 4 overs to spare, thanks to quickfire fifties from Stirling and Hales. The Zalmi bowlers were unable to cope with the assault, and their only wicket came as a result of a runout.
